Baby Isaiah

Isaiah's delivery was the most unusual yet! I went in Wed night to start an induction. Thursday morning I was dilated to 2 and at 6 a.m. Pitocin was started. After hours of contractions I had made no progress so the nurse broke my water about 1 p.m. She also had to put internal monitors on the baby's scalp (painful!!) That really got it going and I asked for an epidural. After 4 failed attempts the doctor gave up. I was crying hysterically by that point and I was only 5.5 cm. The nurse told Dan she'd come back and check me at 3pm which was 7 minutes away. After 5 minutes I told Dan I had to push. He ran to get some help and when he came back with the nurse she barely had time to get gloves on because his head was crowning. My nurse delivered our baby at 3:04 pm on June 7. It was the first baby she caught, and we were the talk of the floor for days!!
